A blaze erupted around 12:30am at a jhut warehouse owned by Sarowar Hossain in the Bakultala area of Sreepur, said Mohammad Mamun, deputy assistant director of the Gazipur Fire Service.
Two units from Sreepur station responded first, and as the fire intensified two more units from Rajendrapur Modern Fire Service joined the operation, 抖阴精品 Gazipur correspondent reported.
Mamun said four fire teams brought the flames under control by 3:00am. No human casualties were reported, but three cows kept on one side of the warehouse died in the fire.
Cotton, jhut and scrap materials were burnt, and the cause of the blaze and total losses were not immediately known, he added.
In a separate incident on Monday afternoon, a fire broke out at the Finix Coil Factory in Bagher Bazar of Rajendrapur, spreading to an adjacent warehouse and nearby houses, the Fire Service and Civil Defence said, reported United News of Bangladesh.
Workers attempted to put out the fire after noticing smoke at around 12:55pm, but failed. Nine fire engines were deployed and brought the fire under control at about 2:55pm, said Talha Bin Jashim of the Fire Service media cell.
