The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution launched an e-services management system, bringing all customer services under a single digital platform, at an event at the BSTI headquarters at Tejgaon in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Ministry of Industries secretary Md Nuruzzaman, additional charge, attended the event as chief guest and launched the software, said a press release.


BSTI director general SM Ferdous Alam presided over the ceremony.

Also present were Fouad M Khalid Hossain, deputy chief of the Bangladesh Trade Facilitation Project; Ashraful Kabir, managing director of Orange BD Limited; and senior officials from the Ministry of Industries and BSTI.

Funded by the United States department of agriculture through the Bangladesh Trade Facilitation Project, and supported technically by Orange Business Development Limited, the initiative has been implemented to enhance transparency, efficiency and accessibility in service delivery.

Under the e-service system, customers will be able to obtain a wide range of BSTI services online, including product certification marks, clearance certificates, halal certificates, management systems certificates, metrology licences, packaging certification, test reports and purchase of related Bangladesh standards, added the press release.

Through the platform, service recipients can submit applications, pay fees through online payment gateways, receive inspection notices, pay test fees and track applications in real time.

BSTI officials will also be able to verify applications, issue inspection reports, send sample collection notifications, provide test reports, recommend licences and finally issue licences upon receiving the required fees.
