A man and his wife were found dead at their house in Rangabali upazila of Patuakhali district on Tuesday night.
The deceased are Rakib Pyada, 30, and his wife Sohagi Begum, 25, of Uttar village Chalitabunia under Chalitabunia union. They have a seven-year-old son named Mujahid.
Local people said that a neighbouring relative went to the house at about 10:00pm on Tuesday and found the couple hanging from the ceiling of the house.
Hearing her screams, neighbours rushed to the house and informed police about the matter.
Officer-in-charge of Shamim Hawladar of Rangabali Police Station said that the bodies were sent to Patuakhali morgue for post-mortem examinations.
All evidences including a suicide note were recovered but the exact cause of death would be determined after getting autopsy reports, he added.
The recovered note reads, ‘All honour has gone. What’s the point of staying alive? I will embrace voluntary death along with Sohagi. Our bodies should not be taken for postmortem. Bury us together on the west side of the house. I am innocent. Please look after my son. Please forgive both of us. We were married for twelve years. Why has everything become so bad now?’
