Three men were arrested over the rape of a woman in Tangail on Saturday near the Tangail Railway Station.
The suspects have confessed to the crime, said the police. 聽
Tangail court police inspector Lutfar Rahman said that senior judicial magistrate Minhajuddin Faraji recorded the statement of accused Dulal Chandra Das and senior judicial magistrate Romelia Sirajam recorded the statements of Sajeeb Khan and Rupu Mia on Saturday night.
Later, the court ordered to send them to jail.
The 22-year-old victim, who works as a domestic help at a house in Chattogram, was admitted to 250-bed Tangail General Hospital where her medical examination was completed on Sunday.
According to the police, the woman travelled from Nasirnagar in Brahmanbaria to the airport railway station in Dhaka on Friday night.
She was scheduled to go to Chittagong but mistakenly boarded a North Bengal-bound express train.
Discovering that she had arrived in Tangail, the woman got off the train at Gharinda railway station in the district at about 12:30am on Saturday.
When the woman informed the Government Railway Police about her situation, a police member asked Dulal to help her board a train back to Dhaka.
However, instead of helping her, Dulal, 28, took her to a woodshed behind the station and raped her.
Later, she was taken to the house of another accused, Rupu Mia, 27, in Brahmankusia, an area near the station, where she was raped again by both Rupu and Sajib Khan, 19.
In the morning, the woman returned to the railway station and reported the rape incident to the railway police, who then alerted the local police station.
