Gazipur Agricultural University signed a letter of agreement with the Supreme Seed Company Limited at the Academic Council Conference Room of the university in Gazipur on Monday.
The primary objectives of this agreement are to promote innovative agricultural research, ensure the use of sustainable agricultural technologies and products, foster collaboration between academia and industry and jointly encourage agricultural entrepreneurship, said a press release.
Professor GKM Mustafizur Rahman, vice-chancellor of GAU, attended as chief guest while Professor M Moynul Haque, pro-VC, Professor Md Safiul Islam Afrad, treasurer of GAU, and Mohammed Masum, chairman of Supreme Seed Company Limited, were present as special guests at the event.
The ceremony was presided over by Professor Nasrin Akter Ivy, director of IQAC, GAU.
Mohammed Masum said, ‘This collaboration with Gazipur Agricultural University marks a milestone for us. We aim to make Bangladesh’s agriculture more sustainable and commercially vibrant through modern research and practical innovations.’
Professor Mustafizur Rahman said, ‘The advancement of agriculture today relies heavily on technology and innovation. Such partnerships between academia and industry will provide our students with hands-on experience, preparing them to become the next generation of agricultural entrepreneurs.’
