PRAN Group has announced launch of ‘Bangladesh Agro-Industry Media Award’ to honour journalists working on agriculture and agro-processing sector, said a press release.
Through this initiative, seven journalists will be awarded in 2025 for the best reports in three categories — print, online and television — focusing on agriculture and agro-processing industry.
The official announcement was made recently at an event held at a hotel at Gulshan in the capital.
Kamruzzaman Kamal, marketing director of PRAN-RFL Group, said, ‘Agriculture and the agro-processing sectors are among the key drivers of the country’s economic growth.
This initiative is part of PRAN Group’s continued effort to promote data-driven journalism and encourage journalists to explore the opportunities and challenges of Bangladesh’s agro-processing industry. We are very pleased to introduce such an initiative.’
Starting Sunday, journalists can submit their reports online for the award.
According to the organiser, reports published between November 16, 2025 and December 31, 2025 will be evaluated by a three-member jury board to select award recipients.
Journalists can submit their entries through the website: agromediaaward.com. If a report is published in both print and online formats, participants can submit it under only one category.
Journalists have been urged to submit reports focusing on various aspects of the agriculture and agro-processing sector, including agricultural product marketing, good agricultural practices and integrated farming, sectoral expansion for the benefit of farmers, business landscape of the agro-processing industry, innovation of the sector, opportunities and challenges, new investments, employment generation, social impact, supply chain, exports and future prospects of agro-processing.
