
Leaders of the Left Democratic Alliance at a protest rally in Dhaka on Sunday called on the interim government to take immediate steps to stop mob violence and ensure safety of the people in the country.
The LDA, a combine of six political parties, organised the rally in front of the National Press Club, protesting against the continuous mob violence happening in the country.
Chairing the rally, president of the Communist Party of Bangladesh Mohammad Shah Alam said that the government led by Muhammad Yunus had failed to control law and order of the country and ensure safety and securities of the people.
He called on the interim government to take immediate steps to stop the mob violence in the country.
Assistant general secretary of the Socialist Party of Bangladesh Razequzzaman Ratan called on the interim government to give next general elections as early as possible for the democratic transition of the country.
Mushrefa Mishu, general secretary of Democratic Revolutionary Party, central leader of SPB (Marxist) Shima Datta, Revolutionary Communist League general secretary Iqbal Kabir Jahid and executive president of Bangladesh Socialist Party Abdul Ali, among others, spoke at the rally.
CPB joint general secretary Mihir Ghosh conducted the rally, which was followed by a protest procession that paraded different city roads.
