Ronger Gaari, an art organisation, is holding a six-day Miniature Art Exhibition Bangladesh 2025 at Safiuddin Shilpalay in the capital Dhaka.

Inaugurated on October 24, the exhibition is displaying 321 macro artworks created by 180 artists, including painters and sculptors.

The artworks are from 1 centimetre to 14 centimetres in size in different mediums, including watercolour on paper, acrylic on canvas and mixed media while sculptures are created with different materials, including stone, clay, chalk and metal.

Curated by Ronger Gaari founder Mintu Dey, the exhibition artworks are portraying the beauty of nature, daily life of people, floral composition, urban life, still life and portraits of legendary poets, artists and working class people.

The exhibition awarded 10 artists selected by a jury committee composed of renowned artists Jamal Ahmed, Biren Shome, Pradyut Kumar Das, Rashid Amin and Kamal Uddin.

Artist Joya Dash won the award in the best miniature watercolour category, Sharmin Akter Lina in acrylic, Rakin Nowar in figurative, Abu Kalam Shamsuddin in portrait, Abdul Momen Milton in experimental and Sumon Barman in sculpture while four artists — Masud Ahmed, Rawshan Nila, Anindita Datta and Mustafizur Rahman — won the award of excellence.

Each award consisted of a crest, certificate and Tk 10,000 as prize money from Ronger Gaari.

‘In art, every line, stroke of colour and dot of pencil or pen is important and through this miniature exhibition we celebrate skills and creativity of contemporary arts and artists,’ said Mintu Dey, who is also known for his miniature skills.

The exhibition will end on October 29.
