Bangladesh interim government finance adviser Salehuddin Ahmed on Monday announced the new national budget with an overall expenditure outlay of Tk 7.9 lakh crore.

In a televised announcement in absence of the parliament, the finance adviser projected overall revenue collection at Tk 5.64 lakh crore setting a deficit financing of Tk 2.26 lakh crore.


A net loan of Tk 96,000 crore will be taken from external sources and some net Tk 1.25 lakh crore will be taken as loan from the domestic sources to meet the deficit amounting 3.6 per cent of the projected Gross Domestic Product at Tk 62.44 lakh crore in the financial year of 2025-26.

The Annual Development Programme has been estimated at Tk 2,30,000 crore.

The GDP growth target set at 5.5 per cent while inflation at 6.5 per cent for the new fiscal.
