The newly elected committee of the Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh named the heads of the sub-committee after the first meeting was held on Saturday, according to a press release provided on Monday.Â
Shamsur Rahman has been named the head of administration, while Irfan Shukkur has taken charge of the finance.
Akbar Ali and Najmul Hossain Shanto will look after the current men’s players committee, as Rumana Ahmed has been handed the responsibility of women’s players.Â
The national team ODI captain, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, along with Imrul Kayes, will oversee the fund mobilisation committee. Media and communications will be headed by Nurul Hasan, while Mohammad Mithun and Mominul Haque got the event committee.Â
The meeting was presided over by the president of the association, Mithun, while the vice-presidents, Shahriar Hossain and Nurul, were also present, along with the other executive committee members.Â
CWAB also appointed corporate personality Shehzad Munim and journalist Mohammad Isam as the committee’s advisers.
Mithun reiterated the committee’s commitment to raising funds for players’ welfare across the country.
‘CWAB must gain the trust of all men’s and women’s cricketers in Bangladesh. The wellbeing of cricketers is our topmost priority. We will find time from our busy schedules to help cricketers and run CWAB smoothly,’ said Mithun.
The long-awaited election of the CWAB was held in September.Â
