Three workers sustained burn injuries after a fire broke out at a shoe factory in Bangshal area of Dhaka on early Monday.
The incident took place at about 1:40am at the factory located in Sikkatuli Mazar Goli under Bangshal Police Station.
The injured鈥� Ainuddin, 45, Amir Uddin, 40, and Ruman, 16 鈥攁re undergoing treatment at the Burn unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Ruman told reporters at the hospital that they were working the night shift when the fire suddenly erupted from adhesive solution used in the factory.
鈥楾he flames spread very quickly. We were all burnt. We somehow managed to reach Dhaka Medical ourselves,鈥� he said.
Md Faruk, in-charge at the hospital police outpost, said the victims arrived at the emergency unit at about 2:15am and were later admitted to the burn unit.
Ainuddin sustained 20 per cent of burns, Amir 10 per cent of burns and Ruman sustained 45 per cent burns, he added.
