At least eight people, including a woman, were killed and 39 others injured in road accidents on Monday in Jamalpur, Habiganj, Moulvibazar, Gopalganj and Tangail districts.
In Jamalpur, four people were killed and four others injured when a covered van hit a battery-run rickshaw on Jamalpur-Tangail highway in sadar upazila, United News of Bangladesh reported.
Three of the deceased were identified as Rashed, 32, Chan Mia, 62, and Arifa Akter Puli, 25, while the identity of another could not be known yet.聽
Jamalpur Sadar police officer-in-charge Nazmus Sakib said that the accident happened in Adarsha Bottala area, adding that two seriously injured were sent to Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital.

In Habiganj, a Brahmanbaria-bound bus plunged into a roadside ditch after it collided with a Sylhet-bound truck on Dhaka-Sylhet highway at Madhabpur upazila, leaving one dead on the spot and over 31 bus passengers injured.
The accident happened at about 6:30am.
The deceased was identified as Badal Mia, 40, son of Paltu Mia of Birpasha village at Bijoynagar upazila in Brahmanbaria.
Shaistaganj Highway Police officer-in-charge Shubha Ranjan Chakrabarty said that the injured were sent to Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex.
Madhabpur Upazila Health Complex on-duty doctor Kamal Krishna told 抖阴精品 that several seriously injured were referred to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital and Habiganj Sadar Adhunik Hospital for better treatment.
In Moulvibazar, a Moulvibazar-bound pickup van collided head-on with a motorcycle on Kulaura-Juri road at Kulaura upazila headquarters at around 12:30am Monday, leaving the motorcyclist Marwan dead on the spot.
Three others, including the pickup van driver and his assistant, were injured in the accident.聽
Kulaura police OC Omar Faruk said that critically injured pickup van driver and his assistant were sent to Moulvibazar 250-Bed Hospital.
In Gopalganj, a motorcyclist was killed after hitting a standing truck on the roadside after losing control on the Dhaka-Khulna highway, Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported.
The accident happened in Dumdia area of Gopalganj sadar upazila.
The deceased was identified as Md Miraj Mia, 45, son of Jabbar Mia, a resident of Barabaria village under Chitalmari upazila in Bagerhat district, said Bhatiapara Highway Police sub-inspector Md Roman.聽聽
In Tangail, BSS also reported that a covered van driver was killed when his vehicle hit a roadside tree at Kalihati upazila.
The deceased was Rashed Mia, 30, son of Motaher Hossain of Saidpur Nauapara village in Nilphamari district.
