
The Bangladesh Medical University celebrated the 179th World Anaesthesia Day 2025 with the participation of doctors serving in ICU at the BMU in Dhaka on Thursday.
The day was celebrated through various events, including rallies and seminars, said a press release.
BMU vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Shahinul Alam inaugurated the rally as chief guest.
BMU pro-VC, administration, Professor Dr Md Abul Kalam Azad; chairperson of the department of anaesthesia, analgesia and intensive care medicine, Professor Dr Md Mostafa Kamal; convener of the 179th World Anaesthesia Day 2025 Celebration Committee Dr Hasnul Alam Shamim; and member secretary Dr Mohammad Shamsul Arefin, among others, were present at the event.
A scientific session was organised at the Shaheed Abu Sayeed Convention Centre of BMU under the initiative of Bangladesh Society of Anaesthesiologists Critical Care and Pain Physicians.
Anaesthesiologists along with the leaders of the society participated in it.
The special guests were the president of Doctors Association of Bangladesh anaesthesiologist Professor Dr Harun Al Rashid, secretary general of DAB Dr Md Zahirul Islam and former secretary general of BSACCPP Professor AKM Azizul Haque.
