
The North South University Centre for Legal Research in collaboration with the department of law organised the NSU Undergraduate Law Symposium Summer 2025 at the university in Dhaka on Thursday.
Since 2021, the department of law at NSU has been hosting this symposium to honour the scholarly endeavours of the promising law students from all over the country, said a press release.
For this term, the symposium shortlisted 15 papers from more than 40 papers submitted by the students of various public and private universities of Bangladesh.
Professor Md Rabiul Islam, department of law and justice, Jahangirnagar University; Noor-E-Medina Suraiya Jesmin, assistant professor, department of law and human rights, University of Asia Pacific; and Nabila Farhin, senior lecturer, department of law, East West University served as the adjudicators for the symposium.
Syed MD Alamgir Hussain, an undergraduate student of Green University, emerged as champion of the symposium.
Simultaneously, Naoshin Sharmin and Nurshalin Islam Shifat from University of Dhaka secured the position of 1st runner-up as co-authors and Wasit Zawad Ismam from North South University secured the position of 2nd runner-up.
The prize-giving ceremony was graced by the presence of Professor Abdur Rob Khan, treasurer and pro-vice-chancellor (in-charge) at NSU.
