Detective branch of police, in separate raids, arrested seven more leaders and activists of Awami League and its affiliated organisations in various places in Dhaka during the last 24 hours.
The arrested are Salim Patwari, 40, president of Juba League of North Hamchadi Union No. 1 of Sadar Upazila of Lakshmipur, Abu Said, 42, active worker of Dhaka Turag Thana Awami League, Masud Parvez, 47, member secretary of Kamalapur branch of Jatiya Sramik League, Md聽 Mahbub Alam, 48, general secretary of Juba League of Bangshal Thana in the capital, Khwaja Tipu Farhad alias Molla, 30, co-secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North Chhatra League, former president of Ward 28 of Dhaka City North Awami League Md Kamal Hossain Mridha, 37, and Rajshahi District Chhatra League member Md Sagar Hasan, 32.
Separate teams of DB arrested the seven in raids in Arambagh area under Paltan police station, Bhatulia area under Turag police station, Motijheel-Nayabazar intersection under Bangshal police station, Mirpur, Darus Salam police station area, Basila area under Mohammadpur police station between Monday and Tuesday.
Deputy commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police鈥檚 DB for media and public relations Muhammad Talebur Rahman confirmed their arrests.
