Rajshahi Development Authority launched drives against illegal occupation, unauthorised building construction and use of plots for purposes not permitted under city regulations.
RDA officials carried out inspections in the Padma residential area on Thursday and found several leaseholders violating the terms of their agreements by operating schools, madrassahs, and commercial establishments on their plots.
The drive, led by executive magistrate Moshiur Rahman, instructed nine plot owners to remove the unauthorised structures within a stipulated time. Owners of two buildings under construction were also warned to complete their works strictly according to the approved designs, failing which legal action would be taken.
Additionally, the RDA team cleared the internal entrance roads of Gadhuly Market which had been illegally occupied.
RDA authorised officer engineer Abdullah Al Tarique said that the authority would continue its drives against all illegal occupations and unauthorized constructions to protect public interest.
