Engineer Mohammad Mamunur Rashid has taken the charge as managing director of Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited.
Earlier, he served as deputy managing director of the BTCL, said a press release on Monday.
Mamunur Rashid earned his bachelor of science in electrical and electronic engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1991 and an MSc degree in telecommunications from Waseda University, Japan in 2005.
He also obtained an MBA degree from IBA, University of Dhaka in 2016.
He passed the 13th BCS examination and joined the then Bangladesh Telecommunications Board in 1994 as an assistant divisional engineer.
During his service, he was promoted to the post of divisional engineer in 2010, director in 2019 and chief executive officer in 2024.
He has participated in training, meetings, seminars and conferences in countries such as Japan, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, South Korea, Australia, France, Austria and Switzerland.
