
Two persons were killed on Tuesday after being struck by lightning Satkhira and Bogura districts.
In Satkhira, a man was killed after being struck by lightning at Chingrakhali village in Shyamnagar upazila.
The deceased Subhash Mondal, 45, was the son of Shivpada Mondal from Ratanpur village under Kaliganj upazila.
He was working at a local fish farm when a sudden lightning strike, accompanied by a rainstorm, hit him. He died on the spot.
Officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar police station Md Humayun Kabir Mollah, confirmed the incident.
In Bogura, a farmer was killed in lightning strike at Ramchandrapur village under Shajahanpur upazila of the district.
The deceased is Babla, 50, son of late Akbar Ali of the same village.
Lightning followed by a rainstorm hit Babla at around 12.15pm when he was cutting grass in a field near his house, said Shafiqul Islam, OC of Shajahanpur police station.
Later, locals rescued and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.
