A fire broke out at a CNG filling station in front of the Raowa Club in the capital’s Mohakhali on Sunday evening.

The blaze started at about 7:00 p.m. at the Eureka Enterprise, located near the Mohakhali Rail Gate, said fire service and civil defence duty officer Rashed Bin Khaled.


He said that five units of firefighters were able to control the fire at 7:47pm.

‘A total of 11 units of firefighters from nearby stations were dispatched following the fire and six of them returned as five units managed to bring the fire under control,’ Rashed said, adding that currently, five units were working to completely douse the fire.

No casualties have been reported so far and the cause of the fire could not be known immediately, he added.
