At least 262 passengers remained stranded in Rome for over 24 hours since Sunday evening when a Dhaka-bound Bangladesh Airlines aircraft鈥檚 wing flap malfunctioned.
Boeing 787 Dreamliner鈥檚 wing flap stopped working as the flight was scheduled to depart Rome at local time 7:20pm, Bangladesh time 3:20pm, according to officials concerned.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines general manager for public relations ABM Rawshan Kabir told 抖阴精品 on Monday afternoon that they could not find a replacement for the broken down flap in Rome and it was now being collected from London.
鈥榃e have arranged hotel rooms for all passengers. The aircraft will depart today,鈥� he added.
In Bangladesh, meanwhile, a Chattogram-bound Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight returned to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday afternoon soon after it had flown due to excessive heat in the cabin, said Rawshan, adding that the flight was now ready for departure to Chattogram.
The flight took off from the Dhaka airport at about 1:55pm on the day and returned 20 minutes later after experiencing excessive heat inside the cabin.
On May 16, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines aircraft made a safe landing at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka city without one of its wheels that came off from the Dhaka-bound airliner shortly after it took off from the Cox鈥檚 Bazar airport.
