Nepalese ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari has expressed hope for stronger tourism connectivity between Bangladesh and Nepal.

He made the remarks during a B2B networking event titled ‘Connecting Travel Trade Industries in Bangladesh and Nepal’ held on the opening day of the 13th Biman Bangladesh Travel and Tourism Fair 2025, said a press release.

The three-day fair began on Thursday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka.

Lutfey Siddiqi, international affairs adviser to the chief adviser, inaugurated the event as chief guest.

Md Rafeuzzaman, president of the Tour Operators Association of Bangladesh, Sunil Sharma, officiating director (public relations and promotion) of the Nepal Tourism Board, along with other distinguished guests were also present at the B2B sessions.

Ambassador Ghanshyam said that around fifty thousand Bangladeshi tourists visited Nepal in 2024, and the number is expected to rise in 2025.

‘I believe the bond and connectivity between the people of Nepal and Bangladesh will continue to strengthen. Our ultimate goal is to build a bridge between the Himalayas and the Bay of Bengal, which will bring mutual benefits to both countries. As an ambassador, I look forward to supporting such initiatives in the future,’ he said.

He further noted, ‘There exists an exceptionally warm relationship between the people of Nepal and Bangladesh, especially through tourism and travel. I thank the Nepal Tourism Board for participating in this important event and express my gratitude to the organizers for including the Embassy of Nepal in the B2B session.’

‘Our goal is not only to expand business but also to deepen the friendly ties between our peoples. Nepal, a land of mountains and rich cultural heritage, holds the belief that ‘Atithi Devo Bhava’ — guests are like gods,’ he added.

The 13th edition of the fair features over 120 local and international organizations displaying their products and services across about 220 stalls and 20 pavilions.

Participants include national tourism organizations, airlines, tour operators, hotels, resorts, travel agencies, financial institutions, healthcare service providers, and other tourism-related enterprises.

National tourism organizations and associations from Pakistan, Nepal, and Bhutan are participating, alongside tour operators and travel agents from Maldives, Singapore,

Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Turkey, and the host country Bangladesh. During the fair, exhibitors are offering special discounts on air tickets, hotel room bookings, and travel packages for both domestic and international destinations.
