
Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan won the Women鈥檚 Development Cup Hockey title with a crushing 8-0 win over Kishoreganj District Team in the final of the 11-team tournament at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium on Saturday.
BKSP captain Aprita Pal and Airin Akter Riya scored three goals each, while Zakia Afroz Lima and Tonni Khatun added one each.
Aprita scored all three goals from penalty corners in the eighth, 18th and 56th minutes to become the tournament鈥檚 top scorer with 30 goals.
Riya opened her account in the 11th minute from the penalty corner before scoring two field goals in the 42nd and 50th minutes. Lima鈥檚 and Tonni鈥檚 field goals came in the 14th and 22nd minutes, respectively.
BKSP dominated the tournament with almost a perfect record, scoring a total of 102 goals and conceding only one against Thakurgaon District Team in one of the matches of Group B.
Kishoreganj District鈥檚 Farida Akter Rattri was adjudged Player of the Tournament.
Earlier in the semi-finals on Friday, BKSP earned a thumping 12-0 win over Group A runners-up Rajshahi District, while Kishoreganj beat five-team Group A champions Jashore District by 2-1 goals.
Bangladesh Hockey Federation鈥檚 president and air chief marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan distributed prizes among the winners.
BHF general secretary Lt Col (retd) Riazul Hasan and sponsor organisation Brac Bank chairman Meheriar M Hasan were also present during the closing ceremony.
