A leader of the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League, the student wing of Awami League, which also faces a suspension of activities, was arrested at Companiganj in Sylhet Friday evening.
The arrested, Misbaul Karim Rafiq, 30, is the president of Sylhet Engineering College unit of the banned student body and a resident of Islampur village at Companiganj.
Companiganj police station sub-inspector Abdullah Al Mamun told 抖阴精品 that a team of the Rapid Action Battalion arrested Misbaul at about 10:30pm on Friday at Tukerbazar of Companiganj and handed him over to the police station.
He said that Misbaul was named in a case filed with the Companiganj police station under the Speedy Trial Tribunal Act.
The arrested was produced before the Sylhet chief judicial magistrate court and the court sent him to jail, said the police officer, also the investigation officer in the case.
