Protests against Israeli attacks on Palestine continued across the country on Friday as political parties and student groups demanded action against the violence.

The Communist Party of Bangladesh and the Socialist Party of Bangladesh held separate rallies in Dhaka, condemning the killing of unarmed Palestinians.


Recent Israeli airstrikes have killed over 1,000 Palestinians, including women and children, despite a ceasefire, the party said.

The CPB held its rally in front of its central office at Purana Paltan, where party president Mohammad Shah Alam denounced the mass killings as a display of Israel’s imperialist character.

He also accused the United States of supporting the attacks and demanded the prosecution of those responsible.

CPB general secretary Ruhin Hossain Prince criticised the United Nations for its silence on the killings.

CPB joint general secretary Mihir Ghosh and central leader Hasan Tarique Chowdhury also addressed the gathering.

The rally was followed by a protest march to the National Press Club.

Meanwhile, the SPB held a rally in front of the National Press Club, with the party general secretary, Bazlur Rashid Firoz, in the chair.

Firoz called on the global community to take a bold stand against Israeli aggression.

Assistant general secretary Razequzzaman Ratan urged Bangladesh’s interim government to pressure Israel to cease attacks.

Central leaders Zulfiqur Ali and Khalequzzaman Lipon also spoke at the rally, which was followed by a procession through the city roads.

United News of Bangladesh reported on Friday that Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in a statement, condemned the Israeli attacks, describing Palestine’s Gaza as a ‘slaughterhouse’.

He denounced the killings of innocent people, including women and children, as crimes against humanity and accused Israel of pursuing dominance while ignoring global outrage.

At Dhaka University, students under the banner of Inquilab Mancha brought out a protest procession after jumma prayers on Friday, demanding an end to Israeli aggression.

Supporters of Khelafat Majlish and Hefazate Islam Bangladesh’s Dhaka city unit also held rallies at the north gate of Baitul Mukarram, where a significant presence of members of law enforcement agencies was reported.

Our Chattogram correspondent reported that a protest rally was organised by the National Citizen Party’s Chattogram unit to protest at Israel’s brutal attacks on Gaza.

The rally started at the north gate of Anderkilla Shahi Jame Mosque in Chattogram city.

The rally paraded different roads in the city.

Students under the banner of Students Against Discrimination marched through Jashore town, calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza, ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· Jashore correspondent reported.

Students of Islamic University in Kushtia brought out a procession protesting at the Israeli occupation and genocide in Gaza, ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· IU correspondent reported.

The agitating students gathered in front of the university’s central mosque after jumma prayers.

Later, they paraded different roads on the campus.

Islami Chhatra Andolon’s IU unit president Ismail Hossain Rahat, Students Against Discrimination co-coordinator Nahid Hasan, Islami Chhatra Shibir’s IU branch secretary general Yousuf Ali, among others, addressed the rally.

Gana Forum announced that it would hold a protest rally at the National Press Club on Saturday, while the Palestine Solidarity Committee Bangladesh will organise nationwide rallies on Sunday, said separate press releases.
