 
                             Bangladesh Football Federation received the bronze award in the Grassroots Football category of the AFC President’s Recognition Awards at the King Fahad Cultural Center in Riyadh on Friday.
The United Arab Emirates Football Association secured the gold in this category, while the Football Association of Malaysia took home silver.
The BFF was recognised for its dedication to organising more local tournaments, with the number of events nearly doubling from 13 in the previous year to 24 from June 2024 to May 2025.
 Alongside their collaboration with youth academies to develop educational programmes, and foster a passion for the sport.
The ceremony highlighted the outstanding and relentless efforts of the AFC’s member associations in cultivating a lifelong passion for the beautiful game through innovative, safe, and engaging initiatives.
During this period, more than 30,000 participants actively engaged in BFF’s events, an increase of nearly five times from the previous year, as stated in an AFC media release.
The BFF’s initiatives have focused strongly on education, child safeguarding, and social inclusion, with programmes such as ‘Empowering Hill Women to Pursue Football Careers’, the Amputee Football Asian Championship, the Veterans Football Festivals, and the Street Children Festival, among other diverse and dynamic activities aimed at ensuring greater accessibility for people of all backgrounds and abilities.Â
