Bangladesh national women’s football team will play two friendly matches against Thailand on October 25 and 28, as part of their preparations for the 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Australia.
‘We will play two friendly matches in October in Thailand,’ Bangladesh Football Federation women’s wing chief Mahfuza Akhter Kiron told reporters at her office on Tuesday.
Kiron also informed that the Bangladesh team will undergo a three-week training camp in Japan in November, following their matches in Thailand.
‘We will have a three-week long training in Japan in November, but no matches are planned there. We are trying to host a tri-nation friendly on our return from Japan,’ Kiron stated.
Bangladesh will commence training at home in mid-September, with both the senior and Under-20 teams participating in the camp under the guidance of English coach Peter Butler.
‘We will start the camp on September 15 or 16. Both the senior and U-20 teams will train together under Butler’s supervision,’ Kiron added.Â
The BFF is also trying to arrange friendlies against Hong Kong, Malaysia or Singapore ahead of their maiden appearance in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup in Australia from March 1 to 21.
Bangladesh are placed in Group B of the tournament with China, North Korea and Uzbekistan.
