Senior district and sessions judge Abdur Rahman Sardar has been appointed as commissioner of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission recently.
Over the course of judicial career, Abdur Rahman served as senior district and sessions judge and chief judicial magistrate in various districts, said a press release on Tuesday.
He also held positions as judge at the Dhaka speedy trial tribunal and the customs, excise and VAT appellate tribunal.
Abdur Rahman, of Bhandaria upazila in Pirojpur, retired after serving as the secretary of the Bangladesh Bar Council. Following retirement, he was enrolled as a lawyer of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh.
