The National University held a workshop titled Online Training Content Development for Teachers in the Implementation of the National University ICT Curriculum at Maona in Gazipur on Friday.
Special assistant to chief adviser Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb joined virtually as chief guest while UNICEF chief of education Deepa Sankar spoke as special guest at the workshop, said a press release.Â
NU vice-chancellor Professor ASM Amanullah presided over the workshop.
Faiz said that the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology would work jointly with the National University on any technological initiative, including the use of automated methods, to publish the results of various examinations quickly.
Highlighting the various initiatives taken to develop students of National University-affiliated colleges as skilled human resources, Professor Amanullah said that the country was still lagging behind other contemporary countries due to lack of proper investment in education after independence.
‘Therefore, even if it is late, it is time to give importance to education,’ he noted.Â
He also said that after taking the initiative to formulate the curriculum of the ICT course, the results achieved so far with the overall support of the government’s A2I and UNICEF were very good.
‘I hope it will be possible to launch this curriculum very soon. By learning from it, students will be able to acquire the skills to become entrepreneurs and find employment,’ he hoped.
The Aspire to Innovate programme of the Information and Communication Technology Division and UNICEF Bangladesh provided technical support in this 3-day workshop.
The workshop discussed online training design and script writing, training script and content validation and online training content finalisation.
ICT teachers, teacher trainers, online training design and content development experts from National University-affiliated colleges and relevant officials from UNICEF Bangladesh and A2I Programme participated in the workshop.
