Skipper Tanvir Islam鈥檚 7-64 set up Barishal鈥檚 second win of the season as they beat Dhaka by six wickets on the fourth and final day of their fifth round National Cricket League match at the Cox鈥檚 Bazar International Stadium on Tuesday.聽

Iftakhar Hossain, who remained unbeaten on 57 off 77, struck a six to ensure Barishal鈥檚 victory, as they needed 34.3 overs to chase down a target of 102 runs.


Resuming the day on 124-5 in the second innings, Dhaka were all out for 169 runs as Tanvir spun a web into their innings. The left-arm spinner took all five wickets that fell on the day, as Dhaka鈥檚 effort to hang in the middle was in vain.聽

Nazmul Islam then struck twice in the consecutive deliveries in the 16th over to bring Dhaka鈥檚 first and second breakthroughs, but Iftekhar steered Barishal to victory.聽

The fixture between Khulna and Mymensingh ended in an expected draw at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium after Al-Amin Jr struck a hundred for Mymensingh.聽

Khulna scored 140-5 in 56 overs in the second innings after Mymensingh took a 72-run lead in the first.聽

Starting the day on 62, Al-Amin reached his hundred in 191 balls before adding 149 runs for the eighth wicket with Arif Ahmed, who fell for 81.聽聽

Mymensingh declared their first innings on 459-8 in reply to Khulna鈥檚 387, soon after Al-Amin reached his milestone.聽

Khulna used as many as 10 bowlers as Sofor Ali picked up three wickets for them.聽聽

In reply, despite losing Anamul Haque in the first ball of the innings to聽 Asadullah Galib, Soumya Sarkar and Kalam Siddiki calmed things down for Khulna with a 70-run stand for the second wicket.聽

Soumya scored 44 followed by his first innings knock of 186 before the players shook hands.聽

Earlier, Rangpur beat Rajshahi by five wickets, while Sylhet triumphed over Chattogram by a margin of 147 runs inside three days.聽

Rangpur now sit in the top of the table with seven points, while Mymensingh, Sylhet, and Khulna each have six points.聽

The sixth round will begin on November 29.
