Health officials on Tuesday said that they recorded 633 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts, killing at least one person in the past 24 hours.
‘We recorded deaths of one dengue patients in 24 hours ending at 8:00am Tuesday,’ a spokesman of Directorate General of Health Services said, adding that his office simultaneously recorded 633 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts during the same period.
According to the DGHS statistics, one died in area with purview of Dhaka North City Corporation.
‘Out of the fresh cases, 82 were hospitalised in Barishal division, 86 in Chattogram, 126 in
Dhaka division excluding the capital, 81 in Dhaka South City Corporation and 136 in Dhaka North City Corporation areas, 47 in Khulna, 40 in Mymensingh, 23 in Rajshahi, six each in Rangpur and Sylhet, a DGHS statement said.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts, Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 367 deaths while the disease inflicted 91,602.
The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
