Abu Jayed Rahi鈥檚 five-for put Sylhet in command against Chattogram in their fifth round match of the ongoing National Cricket League at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura on Sunday.
Pacer Rahi returned with 5-37 to skittle out Chattogram for just 110, as Sylhet took a lead of 145 runs after scoring 255 in their first innings.
Sylhet, then extended their lead to 338 runs as they reached 193-6 at the end of the second day鈥檚 play.
Zakir Hasan continued his fine-form and scored another half-century, scoring 61 with five boundaries, accompanied by Amite Hasan鈥檚 unbeaten 58 and Mubin Ahmed鈥檚 27.聽
Fast-bowler Ifran Hossain, who claimed a five-for in the first innings, also took 3-34 in the second innings while Nayeem Hasan took 3-66 for Chattogram.
After posting 268 in the first innings, Rajshahi bowled out Rangpur for 258, as medium pacer Abdur Rahim claimed 6-72 runs at the Rajshahi Divisional Stadium.
Abdullah Al-Mamun top-scored with 64 while Jahid Javed (31), Nasir Hossain (30) and Islam Mukidul Islam (29) contributed crucial runs.
Rajshahi reached 12-0 when the bails were drawn.
At the Khulna Divisional Stadium, the hosts were bowled out for 387 after Soumya Sarkar鈥檚 first-class career-best 186.
Meanwhile, Mymensingh responded steadily, as they scored 170-3 at stumps on day 2, with Under-19 captain Azizul Hakim Tamim unbeaten on 48 and Abdul Mazid on 23.
Sofor Ali, Sheikh Paeviz, and Samiun Bashir each took a wicket apiece.
At the Cox鈥檚 Bazar International Stadium, Iftakhar Hossain Ifti (78) and Md Abdullah (55) led Barishal鈥檚 strong reply to Dhaka鈥檚 273 in their first innings, as they reached 243-5 at stumps.
Sohag Gazi and Tasamul Haque were unbeaten on 22 and 15 runs, respectively.
Sumon Khan picked up 4-47 and Ashraful Islam took one for Dhaka.聽
Earlier, overnight batter Marshall Ayub fell on 120, who became only the fourth Bangladesh player to reach 10,000 runs first-class cricket.
