Bangladesh will take on the defending champions Australia in the group match of the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam today.

The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm Bangladesh Standard Time.

The Nigar Sultana Joty-led team will have to overcome their heartbreaking three-wicket loss to South Africa in their previous game.

At one stage South Africa were 78-5 while chasing 232 but some dropped chances at crucial moments cost Bangladesh the game.

However, Joty said that they needed to move on quickly.

‘I think we should not be disappointed or heart-broken, because the show must go on. We should carry forward the positive things from here and go for the next matches,’ she said.

After beating Pakistan in the first match, Bangladesh lost to England, New Zealand, and South Africa.

Australia, on the other hand, are yet to lose a game in the tournament. They beat New Zealand, Pakistan, and India while having to share points with Sri Lanka due to a washout.

This will be the fifth meeting between Bangladesh and Australia in women’s ODIs.

They played a three-match series at Mirpur last year where Australia beat Bangladesh 3-0. The hosts couldn’t reach even 100 runs in a single game.
