The Jatiya Party on Wednesday reiterated its demand for holding the next general election under a neutral caretaker government.

The party chairman, Ghulam Muhammad Quader, at a press conference at its central office in the capital鈥檚 Karail area, also said that the interim government had lost credibility in its one-year rule.

Moreover, they failed to control the law and order situation as well as mob culture, GM Quader said.

He said that the interim government had lost its neutrality and people did not believe that holding a participatory, free, fair and credible general election would be possible under this government.

So, the next general election must be held under a caretaker government in a free, fair and credible manner within 90 days of its formation and his party would take part in that election, GM Quader added.

The press conference was attended, among others, by the party presidium members, Rezaul Islam Bhuiyan, Saifuddin Ahmed Milon and Alamgir Sikder Lotan, and office secretary Mahmud Alam.
