The police in Savar, on the outskirts of Dhaka, detained 22 people including nine women, during a late-night raid at a residential hotel over allegations of involvement in immoral activities, authorities said on Tuesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from Savar Model Police Station raided the Dubai Guest House near Savar bazar bus stand area early Tuesday.
鈥榃e received information that the hotel was being used for immoral activities鈥�, said Jewel Miah, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station.
鈥楧uring the operation, 22 people were detained and taken to the station for questioning鈥�, he added.
The OC said that the investigation is ongoing and legal measures would be taken under relevant laws once the inquiry is complete.
