The Bangladesh Cricket Board is set to increase the match fee of the cricketers, participating in the upcoming NCL T20. BCB Tournament Committee chairman Akram Khan confirmed the development, saying that the match fee of the players will be Tk. 40,000 from Tk. 25,000 this year. ‘We are going to increase the facilities of the players in the upcoming NCL T20,’ Akram said on Saturday. ‘As part of that, their match fee is raised to Tk. 40,000 from Tk. 25,000 for per match,’ he said. The NCL T20 is set to kick off on September this year with eight teams (seven divisional teams and Dhaka Metro) taking part in the tournament like the previous season. The NCL T20 was launched for the first time last year, exclusively for the local players and earned huge plaudits. The tournament provided an excellent platform for the local players who were craving for more T20 matches in a bid to learn the art of the shortest format of the cricket. Last year, Sylhet was used as the only venue of the tournament. But the BCB decided to spread the tournament across the country this year and as part of that, the tournament will be played in three venues—Sylhet, Bogra and Rajshahi.Â
