The Bangladesh national cricket team and their UAE counterparts will play an additional third T20I in the series, confirmed the Emirates Cricket Board on Monday.Ìý
The match will be held on Wednesday at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium and will start at 9:00pm Bangladesh Standard Time.Ìý
‘The third T20I has been added to the schedule following discussions between the Emirates Cricket Board and Bangladesh Cricket Board,’ the ECB said in a press release on Monday.Ìý
Earlier, the BCB said that they made a proposal to the UAE to play an additional match in the series which was initially supposed to end on Monday with the second match.Ìý
According to the in-charge of cricket operations of BCB, Shahriar Nafees, the BCB made the proposal according to the advice of the chairman of the cricket operations, Najmul Abedeen Fahim.Ìý
The proposal came in the aftermath that the Pakistan series was most likely to be rescheduled. Originally it was supposed to commence on May 25 with the first match in Faisalabad.Ìý
But as the PSL was pushed back due to the cross-border conflict between Pakistan and India, the series was all but set to be pushed back.Ìý
But the revised itinerary hasn’t been published yet. From the BCB’s perspective, they have been in the discussions with the players and the coaching staff about going to Pakistan.Ìý
They said that the BCB would leave the decisions to the individuals whether they wanted to go, despite getting the green signal from the government of Bangladesh.Ìý
It was reported that the president of the BCB, Faruque Ahmed, and Fahim both have been in the UAE and in discussions with the players and coaching staff regarding the matter.
