The Rapid Action Battalion arrested the accused in a child rape case of Rangpur at Basuniapara village under Kishoreganj in Nilphamari on Monday.
The arrested accused is Md Rabbi Rahman alias Riju, 20, a resident of village Kursha under Taraganj in Rangpur, said a press release.
The victim is a girl.聽 The arrested accused and the victim鈥檚 houses are next to each other.
聽The victim was playing outside her house at 5:00pm on July 31 and the accused, by tempting the victim to feed her chocolate, took her into his bedroom and forcibly raped her.
Hearing the victim鈥檚 screams, the people around came and rescued the victim.
Later, the victim鈥檚 mother filed a rape case with Taraganj police on November 3.
聽On a tip off, a team of RAB-13 conducted a raid in Basuniapara village and arrested accused Md Rabbi Rahman alias Riju.
The arrestee has been handed over to Taraganj police for further legal action.
