The Election Commission will publish the country’s final electoral rolls on Tuesday, listing around 128 million voters for the 13th parliamentary election to be held in early February.

The EC is also set to launch a mobile app, Postal Vote BD, today for a particular section of voters, including expatriates, to register to vote through the postal balloting in the 13th parliamentary election.

Chief election commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin will open the Postal Vote BD mobile app at Nirbachan Bhaban auditorium in Dhaka, said EC assistant director Ashadul Haque.

On November 3, the commission released the draft updated voter lists and invited objections over the draft lists before finalisation.

According to the draft lists, the number of registered voters in Bangladesh is 12,76,12,384.

Of them, 6,47,60,382 are male, 6,28,50,772 are female, and 1,230 are from the third gender voters.

The youth who turned 18 years by October 31 were eligible to be included in the electoral rolls, enabling them to vote in the next general election.

The Election Commission is going to update the voter lists for the third time within this year – the first one is on March 2, the second one is on August 31 and the third one is on November 18, 2025.

During the past 12th parliamentary election held on January 7, 2024, the total number of voters was around 119.69 million throughout the country.
