A school student died after being hit by a CNG-run auto-rickshaw while crossing the road near the Postogola Bridge in the capital鈥檚 Shyampur area on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was Mohammad Rafi, 16, a Class IX student of Jurain Samirunnesa High School.
His father, Ramzan Ali, said that Rafi was seriously injured as a speeding auto-rickshaw hit him while he was crossing the road at about 3:30pm.
On information, Rafi鈥檚 family rushed him to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 5:00pm.
DMCH police outpost in-charge Mohammad Faruk said that the body was kept at the hospital morgue for autopsy and concerned police station was informed of the incident.
