With the key theme 鈥榩romote diabetes awareness in the workplace鈥�, Unico Hospital PLC with the support of Healthcare Pharmaceuticals Limited observed World Diabetes Day-2025 with an outreach event on the premises of the hospital on Green Road in Dhaka on Saturday.
On this occasion, free health check, including tests for diabetes and doctor consultation services were provided to drivers of rickshaws, CNGs and cars on the hospital premises, said a press release.
The health camp was inaugurated by Dr Rozana Rouf, consultant, internal medicine and diabetes, in the presence of chief executive officer, Ardra Kurien and chief medical services Dr Md Sharif Ahmed along with other doctors and officials of Unico Hospital.
Highlighting that diabetes is now a global pandemic and the risk of diabetes is very high among working people, Rozana Rouf focused on the importance of regular checks, disciplined lifestyle and an increased awareness about diabetes and its effects.
The camp covered health check health of close to 500 people.
Professor Dr Khwaja Nazim Uddin addressed the gathering and offered consultation to those identified as diabetic patients.
A seminar on 鈥榙iabetes awareness at workplace鈥� was also organised for the employees of Unico Hospital.
Experts exchanged their views on diabetes prevention, control, health awareness and positive lifestyle management in this discussion.
