The two-day conference of physics department of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology titled International Conference on Physics for Sustainable Development and Technology 2025 concluded at the CUET in Chattogram on Thursday.

The closing ceremony of the conference was graced by Rajshahi University vice-chancellor Professor Saleh Hasan Naqib as chief guest while the guest of honour was CUET vice-chancellor Professor Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, said a press release.


Presided over by technical chair of the conference and professor of the department of physics, Swapan Kumar Roy, dean of the faculty of science and technology Professor AH Rashedul Hossain was present as special guest at the event.

The conference’s technical member secretary and professor of the department of physics, Md Ashraf Ali, delivered welcome speech at the event. Also present were the conference president and head of the department of physics, Professor HMAR Maruf and the conference secretary and professor of the department of physics, Animesh Kumar Chakraborty. The event was moderated by Sabrina Sultana Seema and Arju Akhter Asma, master’s students of the department of physics.

Sponsored by the Bangladesh University Grants Commission, the conference was attended by leading academicians, scholars and researchers from various universities and scientific research organisations of the United States, China, Japan, Malaysia, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh.

The conference featured three keynote speakers, 15 invited speakers and 274 papers selected from 400 papers.
