
The National University is entering into a strategic partnership with Johns Hopkins University, an institution in public health, education and research, in the United States.
During a recent visit to the university in the US, the NU vice-chancellor Professor ASM Amanullah said that by working with this institution located in Baltimore, Maryland, the NU is going to open new horizons in public health education in the country, said a NU press release on Saturday.
In this regard, ASM Amanullah said that the initial discussions had been completed and the university was now ready to start working with us.
Under this partnership, National University will initially modernise the syllabus of the master of public health programme with the help of Johns Hopkins to keep it in line with world standards.
Then, the proper allocation and utilisation of resources required for the programme will be ensured and both institutions will start joint research in important areas related to public health.
Professor Amanullah said, ‘We have already taken approval from our academic council and syndicate in this regard. By utilising our existing resources and the connections we have with local and foreign scholars, we hope to be able to present the nation with one of the best MPH programmes in Bangladesh.’
