A 2-day awareness workshop on training activities was inaugurated at the training room of Dhaka South City Corporation in the capital on Sunday.
Under the Improvement of Urban Public Health Preventive Services Project implemented by the local government division of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, chief guest at the ceremony was DSCC administrator Md Shahjahan Mia, said a press release.
The programme was presided over by Abul Khair Mohammad Hafizullah Khan, local government division joint secretary and project director.
Abul Khair discussed in detail the goals and objectives of the awareness programme and sought everyone鈥檚 sincere cooperation in the success of this project.
Shahjahan Mia said, 鈥楾he work of this project has many similarities with the work of the city corporation. We will cooperate and implement all the works of this project in a coordinated manner to increase the speed of our current work.鈥�
Especially under this project, an international standard research lab will be set up, which will provide an idea about what kind of technology to use to destroy mosquito larvae, he added.
The awareness workshop was supervised by AJ Minhaj Uddin Ahmed, capacity building specialist; and Md Enamul Haque, behavior change communication specialist, IUPSPSP.
