UIU APP Forum, a wing of Career Counselling Centre of United International University, organised an industry visit to Microsoft office in Bangladesh on Saturday.

The industry visit was organised to encourage academia-industry linkage and provide students with real insight into future technologies, said a press release.


Twenty-three students from the departments of computer science and engineering and data science, BASIS Students’ Forum UIU Chapter and UIU Advanced Underwater Robotics and Automation crew visited the Microsoft office in Bangladesh.

Md Yousup Faruqu, managing director and country director, Microsoft Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, discussed long-term impacts of AI on businesses and jobs and identified opportunities in AI agent development, MLOps, and AI governance.

Farzana Afrin Tisha, cloud data and AI security lead, showcased Microsoft’s 360° platform, including Copilot, Power Platform, Azure AI, and enterprise security solutions.

Opportunities like the Microsoft Imagine Cup and the Microsoft for Startups Founders Hub were also envisioned by the students.
