Ahead of the DUCSU polls result, a large number of people, apparently supporters of a political party, assembled in front of the Bangladesh National Museum in the Shahbagh area and the entry gate of Dhaka University.

Chhatra Dal activists alleged that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami supporters were gathering at Shahbagh.

When asked, people in the gatherings refused to disclose their political identity.

When asked about the gatherings in the area, Shahbagh police station officer-in-charge Khalid Mansoor told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that they did not have information of any particular political activists taking positions at the entry points.

‘An adequate number of police personnel remain deployed in the area. We are remaining vigilant to tackle any untoward situation,’ he added.
