The Rapid Action Battalion arrested the accused in the rape of a woman with disabilities at Keranirhat under Hajirhat metropolitan police station in Rangpur city.
The detained is Md Mintu Mia, 40, resident of the Rajendrapur area under Hajirhat metropolitan police station in Rangpur.
On a tip-off, an operational team of RAB-13 conducted a raid in the Keranirhat and arrested the absconding accused Mintu on Saturday night, said a press release.
The accused was handed over to Hajirhat police station.
Mintu used to visit the victim鈥檚 house in the nearby area from time to time to treat the woman.
Mintu went to the victim鈥檚 house, threatened the victim in various ways, and raped her on July 1.
Later, the victim filed a rape case with the Hajirhat police station on August 8.
