
Three more deaths were reported from dengue in the past 24 hours till Thursday morning, raising the total fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease in Bangladesh to 95 this year.
The deaths have been reported in Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation, according to the Directorate General of Health Services.
During the period, 408 more patients were hospitalised with viral fever, raising the number of confirmed cases to 23,220 this year.
According to the DGHS, new cases were reported as follows: 73 in Barishal division (out of city corporations), 58 in Chattogram, 59 in Dhaka, 37 in Dhaka North, 57 in Dhaka South, 37 in Khulna, 25 in Mymensingh, 52 in Rajshahi, three in Sylhet division and seven in Rangpur division.
Currently, 1,326 patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals across the country.
Last year, dengue claimed the lives of 575 people.
