The Santhia upazila administration has evicted and vacated illegally constructed houses on government property at Dhopadah Bazar under the upazila in Pabna.
It is reported that Rafiq and Shihab, sons of Chenilal, were forcibly constructing infrastructure at Dhopadah, said a press release on Tuesday.
On Monday, the operation was conducted under the leadership of the upazila assistant commissioner for land and executive magistrate Sadia Sultana with the help of the Bangladesh Army.
Sadia Sultana said that she had asked those who were constructing the infrastructure to bring their land documents, but they did not meet them as they did not have any documents.
鈥楧ue to this, illegal structures were demolished on government land,鈥� she said, adding that the campaign against illegal encroachers of government land would continue.
People of the area alleged that Rafiq and Shihab had been enjoying the one bigha of land for a long time by showing fake documents.
Also present at the time were the employees of the union land office and acting chairman of the union parishad.
