
Health officials on Friday said that they had recorded 138 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts in the past 24 hours.
With the fresh infections, the total number of dengue cases crossed 14,000 mark this year.
‘During the same period, 60 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division,’ a Directorate General of Health Services statement said.
It said that among the rests, 28 were hospitalised in Chattogram division, 19 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 24 in Dhaka South City Corporation and one in Dhaka North City Corporation areas
and 3 in Khulna and 3 were infected in Rajshahi division.
Since the start of the dengue onslaughts,
Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 54 deaths while the disease inflicted 14,069.
The DGHS, however, said that 153 patients were discharged from different hospitals across the country after their recovery during the period.
The dengue last year claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in the country.
