
A construction worker and two engineers were killed as part of an under-construction building collapsed when they were inspecting the construction work at Circuit Housepara in Jessore town on Tuesday.
Eyewitnesses said that the fatal incident happened when the extended verandah of the under-construction building suddenly caved in.
The deceased are identified as construction worker Md Nuru, 45, and Mizanur聽 Rahman, 35, project engineer, and Azizur Rahman, site engineer, both employees of developer firm Building for Future.
Eyewitnesses and the police said that all of were declared dead by the attending doctor at Jashore General Hospital as they were rushed there after the accident. The collapse happened when the engineers were giving instructions to the construction worker who stood on the extended verandah of the 6-storey building.
Kotwali police officer in-charge Abul Hasnat Khan confirmed the information saying that they were investigating the incident.
Sharif Hasan, executive engineer, Jashore Municipality, said that they were also probing the matter.
